Fluval 404 filter question

how often do people clean out the muck out the bottom of the bucket?

I clean the muck out around once a month, just wondering how this compares to other fish keepers?

I clean the sponges once every 2 weeks

i have two 404s on my 90 gal salt


i do my maintance identically
i also once a month rinse my media in the canister water to get the build up off

then i open the valve into a bucket to flush out the lines they get a white build up that

goes into the tank when i turn it back on if i dont flush them.

i have alawys wanted to change the hoses to the noncoragated kind has anyone ever tried this
