Anyone got any info on this filter? Im considering replacing my internal with it.

If the Fluval x05 series is anything like the x04 series (which I recall they are) then I cannot recommend them. You are lucky if they last two years without failing and starting to dump water out through the seals.

In my experience (having owned two) they are a pig to start the syphon after maintenance and poorly constructed. I would feel far happier with a 10 year old Eheim than a brand new Fluval.

that is true, i was quite suprised the construction looks like cheap chinese tack, compared to fluvals internal range anyway.

I have an original 304 from when they first hit the market, The one with the aqua stop and none-ribbed hoses, Many years old now. Never failed to start, Never leaked.

Had to replace some parts

1. The aqua stop (mine did clog now and again) because i stood on it.

2. Impeller shaft cover (Broke one of the tabs).

I have heard of em leaking, heads warping but I question is this just a few people shout about where there many more that work A1 that nobody says nothing about?
