Fluval 205 External Filter

i have a fluval 205 external filter and i wonder if im doing something wrong when i clean it, everything is fine untill i put it back in and turn it all on again all this muck comes out of the outflow pipe and floods my nice clean tank with crud

am i doing something wrong

Nope thats normal, its the stuff left in the pipes etc, what you want to do is put a net over the end prior to turning it back on, this will catch all the stuff and save it making a mess of your nice clean tank
