1. Ammonia is less than 0.02 ppm, ph is 6.6, Nitrite and Nitrate are both low as I recently changed half a tank
2. Rubbing on plants and gravel, having trouble breathing/gasping, resting at the bottom of the tank for long periods of time (hours), gills not opening fully, usually one gill closed.
3. I recently did a water change of about half the tank, usually every 5 days or so.
4. Prime, and lately I have put in API General Cure and Melafix. The Melafix seemed to perk them up a bit.
5. Two young black moor goldfish, about an inch and a half or so in length.
6. 20 gallons, I will upgrade to a 50 when they get a little older, as I am still figuring a space for it.
7. No, and I have had these two for about two months.
my poor little ones have been sick for about a week now, flashing about or barely moving at all. The runty/smaller one, who has damaged fins I have been treating with Melafix, has been rubbing on everything. They have finally started to eat a little again, but it is very strange. First the little one (Smalls) was the one hanging out at the bottom and barely moving, with the larger one (Ronnie) keeping close to him, even resting under him to give him a boost when he went to the surface. Now it is Ronnie who is in the same position, where Smalls has perked up some. I am giving them API General Cure and Melafix, but it would be helpful to have any other advice! They are very precious to me.
