I remember seeing tiny little flounder at the lfs now and then. I was wondering if they stay small. I'm setting up a new tank with a sand bottom and it would be fun to watch them settle into the sand and blend in.

What do they eat?

Very cool fish. They do stay small. I would feed them Brine Shrimp, choped bloodworms, or something small. I would recomend using an eyedropper to get it to the bottom. My friend had one, but I only know what she told me.

fresh water flounders true ones are form the amazon region, very hard to come by! what you buy in shops are not true fresh water ones, but other speices sold as. Some get quite large depending on species! can be messy needs great filtration and a fairly good tank size ( one with lots of room)

They eat meatie foods love earth worms. would suggest getting a book on these if you really intend to keep them! as there is not a lot of info about on them kept as an oddball. I know of people in uk who keep them. There is an aqualog book on freshwater flounder and stingrays that may be of some help to you!
