whats all this "the board has administered the flooding control" nonsense

as much i like this forum, never had this problem before on another forum, you just getting in the flow of it them you got to wait 30 seconds before you can post again or even move on to another menu!!!

What purpose? stop spammers?

Yeah i noticed that too, im guessing it is to stop spamming, or discourage it at least. it doesnt really bug me that much. i just look up fish species that ive never heard of up on google to pass that thirty seconds.

Its just to stop people from posting/spamming a bunch of posts at once. Surely 30 seconds isnt too long to wait?

The problem is some naughty people devlope programs to spam forums.....

These programs are capable of posting several messages a second, and if left will scan the whole site and spam away untill the account is banned which may be min's or hours!!!

So putting 30 seconds just reduces this risk and evey forum should have it, the other forum we like has it too....

I have rarely had it pop up. On rare occasions, I post something and then realize I want to quote something from an earlier post and click "Add Reply" again too soon and get it but it's not a big deal. I would much rather have that than a 1000 spams all over the place.

Never noticed it on the other forum mate, if it exists on the other forum certainly isnt as intrusive as on here
