Floating rocks

I'd like to find some floating rocks, ideally real and not resin but since the real ones are sold super expensive online and I'm not sure where to get them in person, I'm considering the resin ones but I don't understand what these little metal hooks at the top/bottom are? I ordered one and saw it, it looks copper coloured and the seller didn't know what it was so I returned it. I'm looking again and notice in photos they all have them, what is it and why is it necessary? Does anyone know what metal it is?

it's just so you can attach a fish line from it to a rock or something at the bottom to act as a weight so you can create different heights for the floaters depending on fish line length
