Floating Mystery Snail?

is it dead? it was climbing up the aquarium for air but now it is just floating up unresponsive.. is there a way to tell if its dead?

I am unable to edit my post and forgot to mention I just tested my waters - PH about 6, ammonia nitrite are at 0 nitrate is .5

Ahhh snails need air? I thought they live under water no problems. At least mine does.

It might be afraid so it may not respond. I know I wonder if mine is dead at times until a few hours later and I see it half way across the tank lol.

They get air trapped in their shell and float sometimes. Try holding it by the glass so it can reattach or leave it alone, he'll figure it out! You'll know if their dead as their body will be completely out of the shell.

well good news, the snail fell back to the ground i put some food next to it and it went straight for the food.

I'd take that as a good sign its still alive!! Good news.
