Floating But Not Dead

fish jumped out of tank now has air pocket that keeps him floating upside down other then that he seems fine eating good can i just cut this and not kill him

Could you provide a little more info? Is the fish stuck in an air-pocket or is it a physical problem with the fish?

Also it would be very helpful if you could give us the results from a set of water tests, fish jump out of the water for a reason, and it is sometimes water quality related.

He pm pme about the fish but never thought to ask why he jumped out.
Reason for fish jumping out of tanks.
Though some fish do jump so need a lid.
