Hi guys

I have 2 flag festivums in my 100g tank along with other various fish, i`ve had them around 14 months and they are a breeding pair. in the past couple of days one half of the males face has gone jet black!. In the time that i have had them i know they can change colour like a set of traffic lights depending on their mood but i have never seen this.

Apart from the obvious colour change they seem fit and well and have no signs of illness or distress, has anyone any suggestions as to what may have caused this and wether or not i should be duly concerned?

Cheers

John

Could it be breeding colors? My festivum get very vivid black stripes when they're angry with each other.. but I've never seen a completely black face..

Try to take some pics.. I'd like to see them..

It's nice to see another festivum fan around here.. I don't think there are many of us !

Hi thanks for the reply....

No there def not breeding colours, i have some good pics on my pc of the black face but when i go to insert an image i get asked for a "url" and i don`t know what to do to get the image uploaded!.

But i do agree they are really majestic fish and when they breed the behaviour they display is fascinating!, if you can advise me on how to get the pics uploaded i will happily oblige!

Cheers!

I like go to www.tinypic.com

You can upload photos there and it will give you the URL so you can post it here..

there's a browse button.. click it and you'll be able to choose the photo from your folders.. then just click upload and in maybe 10 seconds you will get 3 areas with URLs in them..

the one that has the [I.M.G] and [/I.M.G] minus the .s around it is what you will need to copy and paste here

then when u post it here it should show up

Ok here goes......I

As you can see i`m no "Bill Gates" when it comes to computer wizzardry! But you can now see what i mean by the black face!....

any ideas?

cheers!

That is veeery weird... it's only on 1/2 it's face too... Is it more aggressive then normal.. or acting any different then usual..

That's pretty cool looking actually.. hopefully nothings wrong with it!

Looks like a nice fish too.

I cant remember where (could have been on my own Angel) but i think ive seen this before and think it was fine.

Hi all...

No he`s no more aggresive or grumpy as he usually is, apart from the colour change on his face all is fine! and I suppose the only consolation he has is that his mate still appears to love him as much as she did when he was a "perfect" flag!!! lol

Cheers!
