Sorry....should have added this question to my earlier one.

Anyway,im fitting the liner to my new pond on monday (10ftx9ftx3ft9in.deep)

The walls are made from breezeblocks and are perfectly straight as is the bottom.

I think im going to have a problem in the 4 corners when fitting liner, cuz im going to try to fold the corners like you do when you make a bed.(will end up with sort of an envelope effect)

Would it be possible to use the glue you use for puncture repairs on pushbikes?

The liner is a "Firestone" made of rubber.(cost me almost £250,so it should last a while).

The glue would hold the flaps back while filling with water and also prevent the flaps from opening when full.

hope you can help.

i wouldnt use glue as it does go off after abit nomatter what it says on the packet and the bike glue could be posinos to fish ??? you neva know

the flaps in my pond are quite big but there like hiding places for frogs

but if you dont want any flaps you could try pulling it into one big flap and pulling it tight or use glue but i dont think it will hold myself

if the pond is perfectly square on the corner then you should be able to fold the liner so you just have 4 pleats, 1 in each corner.

If you fold the pleats the way that the flow would push them this will hold it in place, once filled.

I'm not sure about using bike glue but you can get butyl repair tape which is like a extra strong blue tack. This will bond the liner along the pleats.

Good luck!

There is a special type of caulking glue stuff for ponds, which is the tube kind and fits inside of a regular sized caulking gun. The only place I know that sells this is a place called moorehavens water gardens, but I am going there tomorrow to get some new koi and will see if I can get a name of it for you. I used it to seal the areas underneath my rocks on the waterfall, and it is very very strong, it has held up for 4 and a half years on my pond through 100+degree weather down to 15 degree weather.

Thanks very much for the replies everyone. :good:

I think my best bet would be to try and fold them the way the water flows, and maybe use some of that butyl tape.

Thanks :D

hi y`all long time no see

the weight of the water should hold the liner down if you fill it while your doing the fitting, you can buy proper adhesive for pond liners and repairing

:D

I think your talking about Adheseal?

That is great stuff, used it all over on my pond to make sure of no leaks in pipe work!
