Hi,

I have finish my fishless cyling. My ammonia is 0 ppm and nitrite is 0 ppm and nitrate is 80-100 ppm. No it time to add shrimp in it. When I was doing cycling I kept my water temperature to 28°c and now as cycling is finish I change it to 25°c.

Now I am going to do 100% water change as it have high nitrate. But issue is water which I have age is less than 25°c, so will it kill the beneficial bacteria !!

Kindly let me know. Please.

Can you put the water in buckets to warm up in the house before adding it to the tank? i would never do more than 50% waterchange with cold tap water, but 50% might be enough to lower your nitrate level, or do 2x 50% water change whilst letting the tank heat up inbetween water changes.

Well reason for 100% water change is because I am going to use RO water and want to make that water parameter friendly to shrimp. I will use shrimp salt to increase / decrease GH,KH, PH and TDS.

Do I am doing correct? Another thing today I went to buy shrimp but store was not having shrimp, it will come next week. So I will keep adding ammonia, is it correct ?

Add ammonia to give a reading of 1 ppm every 3 or 4 days until you can buy the shrimps.

In the meantime, since shrimps do better with live plants, you could go plant shopping, though don't put them in the tank while you are adding ammonia; plants them between the big water change and buying shrimps.
