fishless cycle

Hi, i am doing a fishless cycle in a new tank is the ammonia count of 8-0 too high i have just started this week.

That's probably a little higher than you really want but isn't a big problem. You can do a partial water change (probably 20%) to get it back down to around 5 or 6 ppm. Or you can just let it go. May take an extra day or 2 to cycle the ammonia but it isn't going to hurt anything.
