fishless cycle starts today

I am going to start the cycle today, the only thing is the lfs man gave me just aqua clean dechlorinator, he said I do not need ammonia, just the dechlorinator.
I'm confused

If you're doing a fishless cycle, you'll need ammonia. Make sure it's pure ammonia which doesn't suds up when you shake it.

Sorry, but the guy was wrong. The guy obviously does not know what a fishless cycle is if he said all you need is dechlorinator. Do some reading in the links I provided... lots of good info there!

If you are doing the true fishless cycle then just use the information in those links. The lfs guy doesn't know what you are talking about...
