fishless cycle help please!

Ive been fishless cycling with no seeded material... just from scratch. The temp is around 29 degrees celcius. Its the 13th day, Ive been adding the same amount of ammonia that brought me to 5ppm everyday until recently because my ammonia level is around 8ppm and i figured that it is a bit high so stopped for the last two days. No sign of nitrite yet. What should i do? the ammonia seems to be getting higher and no sign of nitrite ...

Keep adding the daily dose of ammonia. With no seed material it will take awhile for nitrite to show up. Once you see nitrite, cut your daily dose in half and continue adding it daily until both ammonia and nitrite are at zero. Be patient.

by the way, what if the ammonia level doesnt get lower and it stays at 8ppm even if i dont add... do i still keep adding the same level?

Don't worry about it, just keep adding the daily dose. Whenever people try to outguess the recipe, they end up complicating the cycle and weird things happen. Just follow the formula and it works perfectly.

yesterday i got a reading of nitrite!!! About 0.5ppm ... after 2 weeks! at last!
