Basically I have ordered some eco-complete on eBay but I used the echeque facility on pay-pal without realising it takes 7 days to clear the funds (I thought it was an instant money transfer  ).

So I have an empty tank sat there looking forlorn. Can I start the cycle without the substrate? I just want to be getting on with doing something! I have the ammonia, test sets etc!

(basically get the bacteria growing in the filter, empty a good portion of water. an substrate, then carry on with the cycle?)

Also if I order some potted plants, will they be happy in their pots for a few days till the eco-complete arrives?

Shore it's nots going to hurt,

just clean the substrate really well before putting it in.

and maybe just take out 25% of the water.

yep pot plants will be fine in there pot's.

I've started mine without anything. HAHAHA.. I'm waiting for my substrate to arrive. LOL.. Then I will be ordering my plants...
