Fishless Cycle Blues

A pH crash stopped my cycle dead , hopefully it is nearly finished now as the nitrates are going crazy and the nitrites are dropping ....

A quick note here. Xray, that is simply not true. Water changes will never slow a cycle at all. Sometimes they will actually help by resetting the tank's pH after a crash but we see a fish-in and a fishless cycle always take about the same amount of time. The fish-in cycle always requires frequent huge water changes but it finishes just as fast as a fishless cycle, it just seems longer due to all the buckets of water that you end up having to carry.

excellent , just make sure that you dose up with ammonia for a couple of days to make sure it isnt just a one off , sounds as though you are good to go though
