I have a 55g cichlid tank with about 18 cichlids, 1 scat, 1 catfish and 1 pleco. Three of my cichlids are starting to appear with these little white round dots only on there bottom rear fins. One has two dots and the other two have only one dot. I'm not sure what this is... is it a fungus, they look too big to be ich, ich is from what I understand ich looks more like a grain of salt, but these are bigger. They cover about 1/8 of the back lower fin. Anybody know what this is???

Thanks in advance

I can try to take pictures if necessary....

Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Any signs of flicking and rubbing or excess mucas.
Any signs of darting or laboured breathing.
Any redness to the spots.

All tests are reading normal... No rubbing, darting, breathing normal, no redness,. I did notice one of electric yellows start to darken and lose his vibrance. The closest I can describe is like sesame seed size dots. It doesn't seem to fit any fish diseases I've done research on. Any ideas?

Hi!
My Uncle's Cichlids have white spots on them. (they've had them for a year) he says there a bacterical thing.
But they don't seem to harm them they are totally normal..

Is it possible to load a pic up of the spots.
Egg shaped growths can be lymthocystis.
Do they look like calcuim deposits.

Thank you for your help, he was tough to take a pic of but hopefully you can see what I mean.

Can't see a thing.
Is it possible to mark the area.

its still hard to make out.
Are you sure its not whitespot.
Fish can darken with colour with a bacterial infection.

If you don't think its whitespot all you can do is try a bacterial med in issolation.
Fish can sometimes get calcuim deposits on there fins.
