i don't know if this happens to anyone else but thought i would share.

when i clean my tank and hoover the gravel 3 of my fish appear to have some issues with this. My molly Sharon swims un and head buts my fingers should the get in to the water. Also the 2 angel fish gang up on me like ninjas :ninja: . they go to their corners making me think they are stressed out then out of no where the go for the fingers. first time this happened it took me by such a suprise i have no idea how the tank stayed in one piece with the high shreek that came out of my mouth.

i now know to expect this when cleaning so can prepare my self for their "attacks". I think this gives the fish a bit of personallity and the fact the gang up is so funny to watch. they think they are so gangster!

any one else go any funnies about their fish?

Oh yes.

My Neolamp Sexfasciatus (Tanganyikan Cichlid) which is a fully grown 3" and armed with algae grazing teeth is normally a very shy fish but when it's vaccing time it charges at the (18") tube so hard I can feel it all the way to the top.

Would not like to be a fish on the receiving end of that!

glad i'm not the only one with crazy fish.

glad none of mine have teeth of any description LOL

In my 5ft tank my 18" plec is a pest, he flatly refused to move so I have to syphon round him, but then sometimes he will help by going under the bogwood and waft all the debris from under it for me. (he is a very clever chap). In my 4ft community tank my rams are the worse by attacking the syphon, they get so close that a couple of times they have ended up inside it!. In my sons tank its the platty fry, they are always around the sypon luckily non have been sucked up (yet!)

Mine seem love water change time - many of them will come and play in the cold water full flow from the hose pipe.

One of my silver dollars bit my finger once when I had my hand in the tank fixing the airstone - jumped out my skin so I did and managed to whack my elbow off the side of the tank  He wasn't too popular for a few days after that haha!

My piranha doesn't like it at all. It will bite at the tongs and siphon constantly. My severum doesn't exactly like tank cleaning either but it usually only bites my hand not the siphon.

my old jaguar was the worst,he would attack the syphon<lucky its a hard plastic, because if he ever got me he managed to draw blood, constant attacking

but as you can see who would hate him

Now it's my snakeheads, esp the parachanna obscura<he lies in wait> i have to get a pole first to put in water so they attack that, then i can get my arms in, once they realise its not food its fine, but place your hand in straight off and bam

Then in my dwarf puffer's tank the bristlenose plec attacks the syphon, that makes for a good laugh because he really trys soo hard
