I just bought my first cherry shrimp last night off ebay.
Just wondering if there are any fish that can be kept with them?
They'll be going in to a 10gal tank, so the fish would have to be small as well.
Was thinking maybe a small school of neons or cardinals or something.
BUT I do want the cherry shrimp to thrive and am just not sure if that's possible if there are fish in the tank.

So should I even bother with getting fish? Or just keep it strictly shrimp (with a few trumpet snails here and there and maybe an apple snail or 2 down the road).

Personally I'd keep it as a Shrimp tank only B-)

But my boyfriend has Ember Tetras (very nice shoaling fish), Cories and Ottos in with his Cherry Shrimp, they all get on great and even eat the same wafers together

I would keep it shrimp only, but if you want to keep fish then i would look at small corys and ottos.

Most other small fish will eat baby shrimp if they can find them even Neons and in a 10G tank there is limited space for the shrimp to hide.

About 4 months ago, I added 5 cherry shrimp to my 30 gal tank which has neon tetras, corys and african dwarf frogs. Already, i have so many surviving cherry shrimplets that i'm worried about being over-run. I'd say go ahead with a school of small, peaceful fish. As long as you have some plants in there (java moss makes great shrimp shelter) your shrimp will be fine.

Guppys, Tetra, Platys .. they ok with cheery shrimp? Have quite afew plants and floating plants also rocks with holes :p

If not I will keep them in another tank till they are bigger :)

Thanks for all of the input everyone :)
I think I'll keep it shrimp only for now. Maybe get otos or just something down the road.
SO excited on getting the shrimp though! Really hope the little shrimplets breed like crazy.. I want a tank full of them! heh
