Has anyone ever seen or designed a fish trap to catch fish out of a heavily planted tank? I have a large brood of kribs that need to be removed but I have tried nets, suction line no luck. Fast little guys. Anyone have any ideas?

I siphoned mine out when they were small but if they are too big for that there is a method where you cut the top off a plastic drinks bottle and reverse it and put it back in the lager part, put some food in the lager part and the fish swim in but find it hard to get out, they may be a demo on Youtube of how to do it.

There is a demo on youtube. Pretty slick as long as it's a small fish.

Thanks,
Steve

Yeah I think I saw one on there, they guy was catching Sticklebacks I think using this method.

Thanks, sounds like it might work, Ill try it.

One method I've used that works pretty well is to put the net in with one hand and just let it sit in a spot (preferably a corner) and then to lure the fish into your net with your other hand.

I used the old soda bottle fish trap method and it worked well for catching one of my wrasse that was stuck in the overflow.

Well now I realized that the video I saw was yours! I didn't know we had a famous movie maker on this board

Great tip on how to make a trap.

Thanks,

:) strictly amature! But I do have fun making them. I'm glad you found the video, that's kind of fun to know. Trapping fish can be a huge pain and many just go into the rocks if you try.
