The parameters for my 75 gallon tank are now at zero for amonia, nitrates, and nitrites. I would like to start stocking hardy fish to finish the cycle. I understand that damsels are a good cycling fish but I understand they are very agressive and I do not want to have such agressive fish in my tank. Also it would be very difficult to net them for removal later due to the large amount of live rock. Could someone please inform me of a peaceful alternative fish.

Thank you.

Sacramonel...if I recall...you were expecting a shipment of live rock for your tank. How much is in there? If you're tank has zero parameters with live rock in it...the tank should be cycled and you don't need a fish to cycle. You could ADD a fish of your personal selection tho'. SH

I received 80 lbs of live rock. I was told by my LFS that I should still start slowly with hardier fish because the live rock would not take a higher bioload at this point. I was a little skeptical regarding this. I do know this is true with freshwate. If this is false, then I guess I will go ahead with my planned starting fish. If it is true, I would like to start with a hardier fish.

Its sort of true. Basically what you should do is add the hardiest and easiest to care for fish on your stocking list at this point. The only exception is to put aggressive fish last.

Why not add a frozen prawn and allow this to break down :good: , that way you wont need to add livestock to a toxic enviroement
