I have a 40 gallon tank that i would like to fill with snail eating fish because I have a 10 gallon with one whole side literally filled with eggs
Also Can puffers live in pairs or trios or with other fish peacefully?

if the eggs havent hatched in the tank yet then just remove and dispose of them (not down the drain though). i think puffers are more suited to a species only tank, but im not 100% certain on that

I had yoyo/pakistan loaches that loved to eat snails! I think most loaches love them! As for the puffers I cant help sorry.

clown loaches do a great job. they are like snail exterminators. though they eat the snails.

Puffer compatability depends on species. Dwarf puffers can live in groups, South American Puffers can (but they are brackish I believe). Though other puffers such as congo are a definate solo species (besides they don't really eat snails - I think).

As mentioned before, loaches are great at eating snails. Though Clown loach do tend to get large given time and the right conditions.

My old oscar used to eat the big snails I dropped in his tank....crunch, crunch, crunch.
