My 6 sunfish are wild caught, about a week ago, I noticed they stayed near the bottom and sat around, I did ammonia tests and came up high, did water change after water change but they never changed. I turned off the 3 filters and they are all very happy now, obviously due to the fact the water is now still like there pond water.

Problem is I need to get it filtered, and I'd like to filter the 3 filters soon so they can be used. I'm running 2X penguin 200, and 1X penguin 330, 175g total of filtration for these messy little buggers. Anyone had any experiences like this, and getting them over the hump, this is a new situation.. My last sunny came from a lake/stream with a decent current.

Sunfish? I did a sunfish search and it came with the huge wierd looking marine fish

looks to have a current in here

can you turn down the filter flows?
maybe direct the filters flow either up and out of the water creating a flow at top or aim it straight down back as i have done in my channa tank, creating a mill pond effect, with a flow directing down back and through tank
Can't adjust it, I've tried raising the water level to help reduce it but that isn't working either, its like unless the top is 100% still they refuse to swim around... could be the fact I've only had them a week and they need to adjust but I'm not sure yet.

lol, when I hear sunfish I think of mola mola.

(now they are amazing, they lay on their side so seabirds can pull parasites from them!)

yes i would say to give them time, esp as wild caught, they take longer to over come the fears....
I would say give them a week or two, try hiding somewhere and see what they do when they cant see you any more, like peer around a door for 10 mins, i did this once when i had my cichlid prob to find the aggressor, as when in room they were good as gold, set up video camera and left room for 10mins, so that way they went about there bussiness and i found out who beat the fish up, and it wasnt who i thought it would be

I've been doing this ;) They sit when I'm not there but now they are very active, even when I'm around they seem to be ok, probably just will run 1 50g filter for now.
