Well i would say i am a tattoo artist although i tend to specialise in various areas like asian artwork i.e dragons, phoenix's, cranes etc.
I love fish very much and i would like to do some fish tatoo designs but after considering it, not all fish make good tattoo designs and i would like to hear that if, say you were getting a tattoo of a fish, what would it be?
Any idea/comments are much appreiciated :)

All of the fish designs I've seen in tattoo parlours have been on either Koi's or bettas

hmmm something interesting and original like a betta or puffer or prihana!spelling*

the guy a LFS i speak to has shown me his big koi tatoos up the lower half of his legs, look very good.

Koi and bettas look very good but im looking into more unusual fish like sengal bichirs(sp?), plecs or puffers as before mentioned kind of thing :)
If anyone has any good pictures of fish though like bettas or koi for example with unusual coloring that would look good on a fish tattoo, pics are much appreiciated too

a guppy would look good with an exagerated tail and colour on it :D for a girl. i wouldnt have one and im not really that into tatoos seen as im only 12 :D but i think a betta would look nice or a neon tetra or a big buff pirahna :flex:

Guppys,dolphins.

How about cory cats? You couldn't get just one though, you'd need a school of around six! :D

Hummm...........that could get interesting!

Hm, shoal depends on wether you have mixed species though- what about algae wafers and catfish pelets? You aern't going to let those little corys go hungry on that arm too  ?

Tch tch, remember that they need at least an arms worth of space to be happy too :D

EDIT: and im not even going to go into what kind of substrate they need :fun:

I think if you could come up with a design using somewhat stylized fancy tailed guppies, that would be nice looking. I've really only seen the koi and fighter fish types myself. My co-worker has gorgeous stylized koi tatt.

I would think a Jack Dempsy might make an interesting tatt. Arrowana's have an interesting shape so they'd be something different. Certain killifish, with their bright colors and different fin/tail shapes, would make interesting tatts too. Gouramis have a body shape that would be easy to create a tattoo from. Certain other cichlids would make great tattoos, like Fronts or other African varieties.
