fish tank

hi all,
im new to this site but i have just bout a new tank i got 2 fish 2 balas but am waiting for a couple of weeks before i get buying more for the ammonia and nitrate crap im definetely getting 2 dwarf gouramis 1 bristlenose catfish and about four small shouling fish tha breeds like crazy but i dont have to buy a new small breeding tank for em once there bigger id give to my local aquarium who i know quite well and they will pay for em but they have to be hardy enough to not be eaten by other fish i will buy powder food for em if there are any tgetras that do this that would be best but if there arent other fish no bigger than 4.5 centimeters big thanks for your help

its 51 centimeters by about 30 and i know ill have to get rid of the balas wen they get to big i got a friend with a 75 gallon ill give em 2 him thanks for da facts though

Assuming its 30 high by 30 deep by 51 length, then its 45.9L or just over 12 US gallons, just over 10 UK gallons.

Well you know about the bala's so I won't go into that. Due to the tank size I would go with 2 honey gourami instead of the dwarfs, less terratorial and stay quite small. You could go for some small tetras, 4-5 neons maybe, but IMO its not big enough for a BN plec, correct me if I am wrong.

Geez, sometimes I wonder if my 55 gallon is too small for all of the waste a BN plec produces! Talk about a poo-machine.

I have a 12g UK with a BN pl*co, I got her when she was VERY VERY small, that must be almost a year ago, she now 3 inch's, I know she proberly have to go one day, but I'll worry about that when she gets alot bigger.

To be honest my tanks are always over stocked, but I do run the filtration to match.

White Clouds Mountain Minnows are good shooling, small and hardy fish.

well the tank is big enough according to my local aquarium they do poop alot but my filter gets it very easily especially since he suks the filter and wen he poops it lands right in its draft they only get 4 centimeters any way but yes my tank is about 4.9 litres anyway i went got him today before i read this i got 1 dwarf gourami and the 1 bn it looks great ill soon go back 2 get 1 more gourami and maybe a neon or 3

4cm's, try 4-5 inches!

Oh and don't just get 1 or 2 neons, groups of 4+ are best.

Yeah, my BN had tripled in size size I got it almost 2 years ago. He is now about 5-6 inches.
