Hi all,

Any one tell me what causing this, one of my WCM is swimming in a corkscrew motion, like it can't keep a straight line or even orientation, nothing in the tank has changed or been added recently and I can't see any external signs of anything wrong, except for his motion and all my other fish appear to be OK.

Water stats Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 0, Ph 7

Thanks for any advice offered.

is he breathing hard? any sign of illness? is there any big fish that could have chased him into the glass? how many of the white clouds do you have?

Need temp of tank, is the fish flicking and rubbing against objects.
Can the fish maintain its balance in the water.
Seen this behavour before but can't remember i hate it when this happens.
Any physical symtoms to go on.

Just want to check though a long shot, does the fish swim in a whirling motion though it chasing its tail.

Water temp is 26 C, As I said I can't see anything physically wrong with the fish its not flicking against anything and the biggest fish in the tank are my bristlenoses and the only thing I've seen them chase is each other.

Got 5 of them in the tank, and its the only one thats seems to be having a problem.

The disciption of chasing its own tail is a good one.

White clouds are a cold water fish, mine didnt do well in a tropical tank so i took them back to the shop

I had this problem with a panda cory some weeks ago, and I concluded that it was a swimbladder problem. It died the next day.

Thanks for the links, Wilder, but I don't think its that.

I have it isolated in a breeding net and it dosen't seem as bad but its still doing it. I have a goldfish tank which I may transfer it into, to see if has anything to do with the temperture. If not i'll keep searching.

Again

He he carries on doing it I think it would be kinder to put him out of his misery.
Glad it not that desease anyway, bless him.

He's in the gold fish tank still in a net but it dosen't look good, dosen't seem to be eating and is getting weaker I'll give him/her to tomorrow if teres no improvement I will haveto euthinise(/) it.

Had a glow light tetra that did this he kept spiinning for weeks in the end i put him down as he was gettting weak.
No ill affects to the other fish though.
Had a rabbit do this she had an ear infection that went to the brain bless her.

they dnt always die from it, i had a zebra danio that was like it for a few days, he was bitten by the other danios and even lost an eye, i thought he was gone for sure, but he survived and hes grown big, hes the only one left now!!!
