Usually acid tanks are easier to keep than alkaline ones
Cause I'm cycling the tank mate and the ph dropped to low which slows it down...apparentlyWhy did you put the bicarb in, to make it more acidic or more alkaline
A few generations of breeding won't undo all the evolution species have gone through.I've read posts saying because fish are bred in the UK and its all soft water here then they will be accustomed to the softness, seems alot of conflicting views regarding this
Hi I reckon you can get a very colourful tank with softwater - I have very hard water and I'm jealous of softwater tanks. Chilli Rasboras will do amazing in your tank and so would Sparking Gourami. Rocket Panchax would be cool too.
Check out Kesgrave Tropicals on ebay if you want fish posting

Very few aquarium fish are bred in the UK. Most come from Asia where water, heat and labour are cheap. Some come from Germany and some are locally bred, but the number of local bred fish is tiny (probably less than 1%).I've read posts saying because fish are bred in the UK and its all soft water here then they will be accustomed to the softness, seems alot of conflicting views regarding this
