Hey guys I'm new to the community recently got in the fish hobby because previously I used to own turtles, as a beginner I decided to go with some tetra glofish I got 3 right now 1 pink 1 purple and 1 orangeish I'm thinking of buying another three or 4 of them I have 15gl tank and after a while I want to put them in a 120 gl tank with one or 2 turtles and some other tropical small fin fish. The issue that I'm having is that they will rarely eat in my presence they are a bit sacred of me because the aquarium is in my room and most of the day I'm out so they aren't very used to my presence I think. I'm using spirulina food in like mini small green dots. Anything I'm doing wrong or is there anything else I should do?
I'll attach some photos below.
Ps: sorry for the bad camera quality I took the pics from the tablet.
Thank you,
Kristian

Is that (spirulina) the only thing you are feeding them? I think that's primarily algae and those tetras are not algae eaters. We have the same fish in my daughter's tank. They LOVE Tetra Color Flakes. It's their absolute favorite. I feed them those flakes once a day. For the second feeding, I rotate Fluval Bug Bites, freeze dried blood worms or daphnia, and frozen blood worms or brine shrimp. You don't have to have this many food varieties, but I'm Italian and I want all my children to EAT EAT EAT! lol. But the fish are omnivores, so they need some protein mixed in a few times a week. Try to get some different foods and I guarantee you they will eat.

When I first got them, I bought my tetras really high quality pellets - a few different varieties and sizes - including the exact kind that the fish shop said they were feeding. The fish actually spit the pellets back out at me when I tried to feed them the pellets once we got home. No matter how many times I've tried or what variety of pellet, they will not eat pellets. Flakes on the other hand... they go bonkers over the flakes and the proteins / insect foods. They may just not like the spirulina.

I went through a lot of learning setting up my daughter's glofish tank. It was my first tank and I still have a lot to learn but I am familiar with those fish and happy to help out as best I can if you have any other questions. Definitely get more than 3. Mine seemed to start doing well as a little group once I got up to 5. I have a 20 gallon so hoping to get up to about 7 soon.

They are really beautiful fish. Good luck!
