Hi,
Did a water change yesterday and filled the tank literally right to the top.
I've not been using the lid as i only have fake plants and no lighting setup.

Unfortunately one of my WCMM ended up on the floor during the night, presumably jumped out the tank.
I've put the lid back on for now.

The lid is black and a traditional style. The whole tank looks so much better without the lid.

Should i just lower the water level and remove the lid or does anyone have another solution that looks good to the eye?
Many thanks

Try these....very cheap, easy to trim around pipework and cables....totally clear so invisible especially on rimless aquariuma

You could get a clear cover, reduce the water level by 3 to 6 inches (quite a drop in tank volume), have overhanging large leaves from a safe houseplant over the tank (fewer jumpers but no guarantees).

What fish are you keeping?
Top level fish may try to jump out of water unless you have a lid.

Bottom level fish have less tendency to jump.
If you keep the water lower as Gary suggested, bottom level fish won't jump out of your tank.

As for top level fish, probably they also won't jump out of the tank unless they are being chased by other fish or if there is big pH swing in your water after your water change.

Thanks, going to order one of those.

White cloud minnows, so they're up the top all the time. Seem to do quite a bit of chasing around.

I'm guessing you have to add holes to let air in, pictures aren't too clear?

When you cut the edge to go round the various cables, that's enough to let air in.
