Some of the fish index is in latin. Fine if you learn the latin names.
But it would be good if the common name was in brackets also. For us members who don't know the latin names of fish.

Me personally, I think it is good to learn the Latin names, that way it is easier to distinguish between different species, without getting confused between common names, but I still believe that adding the common name would be beneficial.

I agree. But learning latin names dosn't appeal to me. It would make things easier if the common name was also added.

I couldn't agree more. Scientific names (thanks andy) aen't always displayed, nor, advertised. sometimes the only way to find out what a fish is. is to search on common names. after doing that, we can learn the Scientific name. pluse, as Wilder says, some peopl just are not into it. it seems a shame they should be excluded.
I wouldnt mind betting the usage goes up, if we implement the change.

To my knowledge, each index species should be posted with common names, followed by the scientific name or classification and the family. Am I missing something? Are there posts that are incomplete? SH

That I thought it was too...

Common Names then the Sub title is their scientific names.
