fish in my tank

the tank is 30 gallons.
then you are definatly well overstocked.
Take the advice posted on here and exchange some of the poor fish

you are well and truelly over stocked.

(And just for the record i have seen 2 tank with both angels and neons. Both tanks have been stocked for over a year with these fish. Yes in the wild tetras might be angels favourite snack but in a tank were they are well fed that is very rarely the case)

looking at the fish all of then should get along fine just in a tank 3-4 times bigger. I would be taking back to the fish shop any fish which is going to grow larger than 4 inches.

good luck

All I can say is YIKES. I've overstocked tanks before but never to that extent.

Time to get a new tank or three! Walmart has 55 gallon kits for under 200 bucks.

I agree with Danio on this 1.

The spotted headstander Is a lovely Fish and may be ok. But be warned I have seen these get to Huge Sizes, Comparable with Adult Bala Sharks.

   and people used to bash me for over stocking my tank with juvi fish at 23 fish in a 55 gal. JFC you really need a new tank and i thought i was the evil fish keeper ;) just jokeing take everones advice they know what there talking about

Something's not right (besides the millions of different fish in that tank) A 48" 30 gallon tank?? That tank is either VERY short or VERY narrow.

I agree.

A 4' tank that only holds 30g doesn't sound right.

Call me crazy but I'd trade in the serpae tetras as a priority, especially in such an overstocked tank, they can be terrible fin-nippers!

Wow that's a lot 'o fish! LOL Well the compatability seems nice but I mean... hopefully the shark wouldn't eat the smaller fish lol.

the actual size of the tank is 48 x 18 x 12. i calculated it as 30 gallons. mind you i could have calculated it wrong. may i also take this opportunity to thank everyone for their response to my question and all the advice you have all given me its been really helpful, thank you.

48 x 12 x 18 = 169.90 Liters or 44.85 u.s.Gallons
not taking into account displacement of substrate and ornaments etc.

this would give you room for
4x lge fish (10cm Cichlids)
8x medium fish (5cm Mollies)
16x Small fish (2.5cm Neons)
based on 0.9cm of fish per liter for small fish, 0.74cm of fish per liter for medium fish and 0.58cm of fish per liter for large fish.

I HTH :)
