hi i bought some fish today and got an unwanted little fish not sure what he is

any ideas?

At first he looked like a Pygmy Corydora but having a closer look, it looks a young Rasbora trilineata/Scissor-tail Rasbora

100% not a Rasbora trilineata (colours are completely different), not sure how you managed to get a Cory out of it, Carlovel1!

My vote goes to Rasbora borapetensis, a starved looking youngster.

lol I'm confused.
The tail in the original photo is yellow and black, not red. The black stripe ends at the fork of the tail. Even the mouth looks nothing like Rasbora borapetensis.

You are confusing me now: in the original photos, the base of the tail is red and there is no black in the tail at all..

I would definitely say that the tail is more Orangey-red, but I can see the hints of yellow.
I'm still sticking to my guns here, but I will say that it is severely underweight and needs to put on a few stone.

At the end of the day, it does look very young, very undernourished, so until it grows up, I don't think we're going to get it 100%.

But still..
