Taken from an article I am writing:
If they originated from Manaus or Barcelos in Brazil, then they are likely to be Mesonauta insignis. If they are from Colombia, then they are likely to be M. egregious. From Iquitos in Peru, then you are likely dealing with M. mirificus. Unfortunately we are unlikely to see the true Festivum, M. festivus. These are found in Southern Peru, Bolivia and Paraguay which are not what would be considered as a hotbed for aquarium fish collecting or export.
Will need to double check, but if I remember correctly, the banding would suggest M. insignis.
