Hi Guys, been a long time since I posted but glad to see the sites going strong.

After a couple of moves and selling most of my fish gear we are buying a house so I 'm re-investing in a nice new fish room
in our cellar..

Going for individual air driven filtration and space heating to keep running costs down, prefer individual tanks anyways for
easy modification relevant to species..

Have a High Blow 40 stored to drive the filters, which i'll use with plastic 1\2" pushfit pipe to supply the tanks. Can't remember for the life
of me will I need a pressure drain off, or do I keep the ring constant and only have the outputs to each filter???

thanks
Craig :D

Bleed off some air, it's easier on your blower/pump.

though so, prevents back pressure doesn't it.

plastic pushfit the best way to go?? or is it better to use solvent weld?

Yes, bleeding prevent back pressure, prolonging the life of the pump. I have a linear running my fishroom, I bleed the air off into the ceiling. If I go straight off of the bleed valve I get quite a bit of pump noise. I extended the bleed from the valve into the ceiling of the next room, the extended pipe act as a muffler of sorts.

I used cemented pvc, which sounds the same as solvent weld, just different terminology. If you just push them together without sealing you may have leaks, which can be a devil to find in a larger setup.
