Fish Highway

I came across this link sometime last year. Seems pretty innovative, but I'd be afraid the whole thing would collapse and mass destruction would ensue. I hope I'm not duplicating a post, did a search over the past year and didn't see this there.

Seems sort of dumb in a way to me. I mean, it does give them a longer area to swim in which is excellent, but the water to air ratio is virtually ZERO which I would think would be bad, or not too good if some of the fish don't even come out but to eat??? Definitley wierd, kind-of cool, but definitely wierd

yea it is definatly impressive...but it most have its setbacks. id just be afraid that my fish would never come out.

Wow that is cool! But if a fish died in the highway part it would be veryyyyy hard to get out! and feeding might be a problem too but it is still pretty cool!

I agree with the comments here. Seems like a cool thing, but definitely could cause some serious problems. Still, the pictures are neat. I'd like to find somebody who's made one...

Imagine if the "highways" got covered in algae- woouldn't want to be the one to clean them!

A LITTLE OFF SUBJECT , BUT i ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WOULD BE AWESOME TO HAVE A HEATED POOL THAT WAS SURRONDED BY A FISH TANK , LIKE CLEAR PLEXIGLASS, A TWO FOOT THICK TANK THAT WAS AS TALL AS THE POOL WAS DEEP, SO UNDERWATER, YOU WOULD BE SWIMMING WITH THE FISH...PUT THE LIGHTING IN AND IT WOULD BE AWESOME =) VERY UNPROBABLE THOUGH..WHEN I WIN THE LOTTERY....

Seems cool, but i'd think the fish would take a while to figure out to swim UP lol

I'd do it if i had a lot of money, and I'd make it out of the side of the tank to another tank, keeping it parallel to the floor.

wouldn't all the water go into the tanks due to gravity and over flow them ? it doesn't seem possible unless the highway is level or below the tanks

interesting idea, but cleaning it would be nightmare, maybe with some sort of shutoff valve thing so could be taken apart occassionally. would need to figure a way to have aeration along the paths too. but would look really neat, and as inchworm said, my cat would love it, and my dog would be constantly running back and forth across the room chasing the fish (might keep her out of trouble though.................)
