it's when the kids start smacking the tanks and the "parents or carers" dont say anything

Ahaha, maybe a little harsh, yeah!
My first tank fell victim to a "get whatever you want" mindset when I first got into the hobby. First time keeping fish, had no idea about the concepts of overstocking, ICH, stress, footprint, e.c.t. Wound up with much more than I bargained for and a huge problem that I'm still dealing with - my massively overstocked tank.

But you learnt and asked for help, even if somehow all the fish in that tank are the offspring of a few starters, they should have asked for help

A tropical community tank, actually! My first tank was a 54L Tetra starter line tank that I got for Christmas this year just gone.

Two plecos, three corydoras, a clown loach, red tail shark, guppies, tetras, e.c.t... It was a mess.

Then it got even worse when I moved them into my 170L in February.

Full stock list from before I started dealing with the issue up on the post linked in my previous reply! It was a big mess.

Ahahaha, we all have our moments! I end up just getting too scared of making mistakes, so I spend a good portion of the time between liking a reply and then actually responding just reading through relevant threads to catch up on anything I should know!
