Fish For Small Tank

I have a 24x12x12 tank which has very hard water. I would like to keep shell-dwellers from the lake how many could i keep and which species would be best?

what the exact pH?

how have you got the tank set-up?

any i would say multi's and maybe a trio? 1m / 2f

but there are other species.

The PH is about 7.5 and the tank has coral sand and slate rocks to form caves

the ph is good, bring in more sand and take out the rocks & trade for shells, maybe a silk plant here or there and with a trio of multi's you'd have a super little tank!!
