Fish Filter Question

Hello I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I would be ok to use a marisys aqua one 240 series 2 pump in a tropical tank, what it is I was looking at buying a bigger set up and I found one but it has this marine pump in it some people have said it should be fine and that it should be more powerful then a tropical one but I wasnt sure could anyone help me the person selling it said you can use it for either ???

Yes, you can use it, although the protein skimmer part won't work in freshwater.

will I need to do anything to it or just pop it on, I havent had a external pump before as I have only ever had small tanks before any advice welcomed

I'm afraid I'm not familiar enough with that particular filter to be able to give you advice on setting it up, sorry.
