!!Fish Emergency!!

Oh Dear, I think I may know what mistake I have done possibly?
I was never told from my aquatics shop to put the no1 medication in for tap water so i guess it will have clorine and whatever in it still!
Will I be safe to put some in with my fish if I get some now.

the funny thing is that it only seems to be my Neons dying now. My guppy's and sharks look fine.

Yes, that will be the reason then I'm afraid. Remember not to just pour it in directly to the tank, but mix it in with the water in your bucket when you refill on doing a water change.

Well have has some possible good news. The only fish taht seem to be dying now is my Neons but in tabks that I have has years ago they never seem to last. Last night I did a water change and put some fresh start in to get rid of all the heavey metas in the water. Done a water test and they are at the same levels as I mentions in a previous reply above.

Another bit of news. One of my guppy's is giving birth as i type. I haven't seen because i am at work but my lass called me. What do you think the chances are of surviving?

Well done for trying to sort things out. The reason why your neons might not have survived in the past is because they require pristine water conditions.
Chances of your guppy fry surviving in a community tank is more or less nil unfortunately :(
Next time you can set up a breeding net and a fry tank if you intend to breed.

Hi and hope things are going better now.

May I ask if you have any plans for upgrading?

"The fish i have is a Red Finned Shark, Silver Shark, now only 5 Neons (out of 10), 7 Guppy's, And a Sucker Cat Fish."

This is a lot of fish for a moderate tank(72 litres=20 gallons). The silver shark (assuming this is the one my lfs knows as a bala shark) is going to need a MUCH bigger tank if the other postings on the forum are anything to go by (have never kept them myself). Is a sucker catfish a pleco or a Chinese Algae Eater? If a common pleco, it is also going to need a bigger tank; if a Chinese Algae Eater it is likely to end up eating the other fish in the tank.

Good luck with your tank.
