Fish dying

Ok so the other day, I bout 7 new fish. 3 neons, 2 blue rams and 2 cories. one neon died on the wat home. Another just died and yesterday a corie died and the day before the male blue ram died. I didnt even see the neon die today but the others were breathing very heavy and now It appears that two of my established black neons are breathing heavy. The only difference is they still are schooling for the most part and just ate too. What could be causing this? My tank is 6 weeks old and appears to be done with the cycling process. My ammonia/nitrie is 0 and my ph is 7.6-7.8. Temp is 78-80F. MY filter is a Marineland Bio-Wheel filter.

One of the first things I do if I have fish that are doing poorly if I'm not sure of the cause is do a massive water change, around 50 percent. That seems to fix things about 80 percent of the time.

Well, I did a 50% water change with the gravel Vac. I still lost 3 black neons and one regular. I have no idea what went wrong or why they died.

That's very odd unless your fish just broke down from stress.

What kind of kit are you using to test your ammonia? And did you use any kind of conditioner for the Ammonia? I know even though some test kits such as regent kits will still now ammonia even though its not harmful.

Since you did the big water change, try giving it some small daily water changes now. I have learned this much with fish keeping the cleaner your water is the less problems you are going to have. You might want to start looking at parasite, This could be your problem...

It stopped cycling a week ago and when it was, I was doing water changes every day or other day. Even this week I did 3. I bought some coppersafe because its got to be a parasitic infection. I just lost another one.

I dont like coppersafe for parasites. I always use Jungle products for parasites and I have very good luck too I might add. I use coppersafe for a guard mostly I dont know about the rest of you all but I feel it works better, If I were you I would keep up the daily water changes small ones about 15 percent or mabey 20. What all kinds of fish do you have left now. If they are no scaless fish left then you could use some salt also it is great for parasites. (For Some parasites)

4 rams, 3 cories, 2 neons and 2 black neons. I cycled with these two regular neons and i added the black ones 2 weeks later.

This all started when I bought 6 or 7 new fish from the same place last Wednesday. One neon even died on the way home.

Were the fish not acting oddly in the pet shop? It seems strange that one died on the way home even.

You say your tank is 6 weeks old, what are the dimensions? You did seem to put rather a lot of fish in at once, especially for a relatively new tank.

What are the readings for the tank now? And who do you have left in there?

i think (and from what i can gather from other threads) that the problem is that you added too many fish at once, as your tank is still recently cycled you should only be adding 2-3 fish max at any one time. basically you have caused the tank to begin cycling again, you didn't give the bacteria a chance to adjust to the increased workload!

check your water again.. i know that it was fine before, but since adding the fish it may have gone down hill, as they are constatly producing waste!

No, the ammonia and nitrite are still 0. See the thing is, Within in the first week, I has about 12 fish in the tank because I didnt know better, so the bio load would be able to accept a large amount of fish at once.
