i have lost 3 white cloud mountain minnows and 2 danios in 2 weeks. they refused to eat and then died a day or two later.
at first i thought it was to do with the temperatuture in the tank as with the recent hot weather it has been getting up to 30 degrees C with the heater disconnected
however the temperature is now back within reasonable levels (26 - 27 degrees) and has been for a few days.
i now have another danio which appears to be going the same way. it is losing wieght and not eating but is not gettinng bloated.
please can someone help.

my tank setup is as follows:
fluval duo 800 tank (100 litres)
2x fluval 2plus filters
air curtain
nitrates 30
nitrites 0
amonia 0
PH 8
hardness 10KH 19GH

fish: 5 Black Mollies (2 juviniles 3 adult)
6 White cloud mountain Minnows
2 Danios (1 zebre 1 leopard)
1 Male Guppy
1 Plec

tank is very well planted
partial water change approximately once a week

I was having similar problems about 2 weeks ago. The temp here in Stockholm was so hot and my tank was sitting on about 30 also with the heater not on. I floated ice cubes in a bag and got the temp to finally go down....but lost one of my female swordtails. I also thought it could have something to do with the heat.

She was loosing weight yet eating. She became so thin and then finally died. Then just 5 days ago another one of my fish was doing the same thing so I knew it wasn't heat because the temp had been steady on about 26-27 for about a week. Come to find out the fish had an internal parasite....so I bought:

Waterlife Octozin and have been treating for 2 days now.

Maybe your fish are suffering from the same thing?

Good Luck!!

:( I have that probelm often. It's an internal parasite. For treatment, Jungle Parasite Clear works, but for maximum results also get Pepso Food.

Did the fish look thin before they died?
