Hi,

I did a water change 2 days ago and all my fish seemed fine then untill last night. This morning i woke up to find my platies, mollies, guppies, tiger, tangerines, rosies all dead :(

They turned very inactive and then died. Ive got only an angel and 2 dollars left in the tank.Ive noticed that my other tiger which is left has started to look very sick and has developed some white matter on his body. his eyes seem to be covered with a white film as well.

What should i do? I added the dechlorinating liquid and salt. as well as the blue fungus solution. Should i do a complete water change???

Please Help!!

Thankyou

Ok so ive lost the remaining tiger as well. However these are the symptoms before the fish died:

1)very inactive
2)lay low on the rocks
3)body starts developing white pacthes like things
4)bubbles start to cover the body
5)fish then dies and starts floating

Any idea what could be wrong? What should i do? The dollars and angel seem fine.

Need tank size in gallons or litres.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Could any chemicals gotton into the water during the water change.

Any signs of flicking and rubbing, darting, excess mucas, laboured breathing.

Do you have alot of aeration in the tank.
Was the bubbles beneath the skin or on top.
The white patches did they look like cotton wool on the fish.

Hope this info helps:

The tanks contains approx 14 litres of water.
Not too sure abt the water stats as i really dont know how to check those.

Some fish did dart about the tank before turning lethargic and dying.
The bubbles were on top of the skin
The white patches did look like lil bits of cotton wool stuck on the bodies.

You need to get your water tested fast. As it's the first thing to look at.
Take a sample of your water to the lfs and ask them to write the readings down for you.
Also invest in some liquid test kits of your own.

Your tanks severely overstocked then.
No way should angels, dollors, and tiger barbs be in that tank size.
The tanks only really fit for betta fish.

I would phone the lfs and see if they would take the fish back.

Immediate water change for now and increase aeration.

Research the fish before you buy for tank size, adult size, compatability.

Not one of the fish you kept should of been in a 3 gal tank.

Darting can mean bad water quality, ph shock, toxins, overdose of meds, stray voltage, parasites.

Cloudy eyes.
Bad water quality.
Stress.
Irratation.
Old age.
Poor diet.
Injury.
Bacterial.
Parasites.

Cloudy eyes is a symtoms of a desease not a desease in it's own right.

Cotton wool on fish is columnaris. Which is bacterial.

Hmmmm ok. Thnakyou for the reply.

Ive done a major water change...lets see what happens now. Ive been keeping fish for a year now and theyve seemed perfectly fine untill today. I was not aware of the no. of fish and type of fish that can be kept in my tank. The lfs has them cramped up in far worse conditions.

Thanks again and let's see what happens to the dollars and angel.

Do your own research on the net.
It's best to research fish before buying.
Just because the lfs cramp fish in tanks it dosn't say a owner can.
Lfs usually sell the fish fast, where yours are in a permanant home.
I don't agree with lfs cramming fish in tanks either.
