I have some sad news to report. The Yellow DT Male I got has died during the night. :-( I was a bit surprised. He wasn't the worst looking. I am going to take pics of the real bad one, and post them.

here he is, poor thing.

still having a problem making pics smaller. Here is another pic. Am I correct in thinking he is a veil tail?

The rays look too straight, to me, for it to be a Veil...he looks like a Delta imo. If you had ever gotten him to flare...you would be able to tell easier.

Yup, looks like a delta to me. His rays are not as straight and strong as they could be, but he doesn't look like a veil. I hope all your fishies are feeling better soon.

HI,
Below is a copy of the E-Mail I sent the seller. I don't want to give his/her name here. But I will say that he/she has 0 feedback, on aquabid. I guess I'll know better next time.

HI,
Yes, they arrived. I am a bit disappointed. I appriciate free fish, but not sick ones. The ST male is on deaths door. It looks like he has mouth/fin rot. The Dt Yellow male died last nght. I am not telling you because I want money back for them. They were free, so that's life. But, I don't think anyone wants to recieve sick fish. Free or otherwise. The Dt, MG's are poor quality. Not what I expected. But that is my fault. I should have requested clearer pics. I would have seen the minor spine deformaties on the male, and very uneven lobes of the female. In the future you should be clear about what the buyer is getting. If you cant get clear pics, you should describe in words. I do have to say that the female is the prettiest color, I have ever seen. I am requesting that you give me a $12 refund. In the auction you say $30 for express shipping. It was only $17.85, rounded up to $18; that is a $12 diff. I am waiting to leave you feedback. I don't like to leave negative feedback, unless I feel I have no choice.
THANKS

you paid $30 shipping for...

Shipping cost
box
heat pack

Thats the going price for overnight shipping...is $30.

That sucks that your fish died though...but you rarely get shipping costs back.

seller responded. Says he is sorry, his wife packed fish. He has to go away on bussiness, but will ship more fish when he returns. I'll keep everyone updated. Let you know if he follows through. I have not given him bad feedback. Will wait to see if we can work this out.

I wouldn't have him ship more fish.
If they arrive to you in poor health, what will you do then?
Do you have the time, energy, meds and space for more sickies?

How is he doing?
Are you treating him with anything for the fungus problems??

I picked up Jungle Fungus Clear yesterday. I decided to treat both of the yellows I have left, just in case. I hope the male isn't too far gone. Has anyone used this before? It says a second dose may be added in 4 days. Most of the products I read, said everyday for 5 days. Does anyone think something else would be better/faster? Because of the way his mouth looks, I don't think he can eat. I haven't seen him eat anything yet. I know he can go a few days without eating, but I don't how long he was like this before I got him.
THANKS to everyone in advance. Everyone is always so helpfull. I don't know what I would do If I couldn't get advise here.

If you're sure that he's got mouth fungus, or even if you're speculating, at this point I think I'd go for something like a MarOxy. It is very good at fighting fungus and it does control some bacteria also.

I would probably then also (at the same time - they're compatible for use together) probably try some tetracycline on him. Tetracycline is the granddaddy of fish meds, but if he's got a chance I'd say it would be with some tetracycline.

I think MarOxy comes in liquid form, but the tetra comes in tablet form. Get the tabs and cut them up according to how much you need.

I honestly believe that this might be what you'll have to try if you haven't seen any results to this point...

Also, have you tried feeding him a pea?
Peas are very squishy and would probably be easy for him to eat if his mouth is hurting him. Is he just ignoring food all together??

Hi,
He has only been medicated for 24 hrs. I'm not sure if he looks better. I tink a little, but may just be wishful thinking. But I really good thing is I have now seen him eat. :D There has been no poop, so I don't think he has eaten for a while; until now. I only fed him 2 small pellets. If he hasn't eaten in a while, I don't want to overfeed him. I'll see if there is any change tomorrow. If he is not noticably better, I'll go for the tetracycline. I got the Fungus Clear because it was the only thing that said anything specifically about the mouth.

Small, fuzzy spots on or around the mouth are often Columnaris, a bacterial infection that presents like a fungus.
