Fish Compatibily

Reaaranging my fish tanks for couple of new tanks and would like to make my 55 Gallon into a Cihilid tank. Currently I decieded I would like to get an Electric Blue Johanni and a Cobalt Blue Zebra.

Two questions. What is perhaps a red Cihilid which would go well with these two?

Also, do you think 2 Balas of about 6 inches each would works with these?

I think they would work, but the balas will eventually out grow the 55 gallon (i think) but if you are planning on upgrading soon they should be alright. the cichlids will respect the size of the balas but you could get a nasty one who doesnt care about that, I have a 2 inch Jack Dempsey with a 6 inch Salvini and the little guy has no fear around the big guy lol.

As far as a red cichlid im not sure, i would try asking that question in the Old World Cichlid section to get a better answer, I am more of a new world fan myself so Im not too sure about it. Good Luck!

Yeah - I understand that the Balas get pretty big. In fact, I really look forward to fully raising these guys. I've brought them up from about half the size they are now. Eventually I intend to go up to a 100 gallon tank. That won't be until sometime after I moved after next summer, though. As of now I will already have a 55, 35 and 10 gallon to move..
