Hi there,

These are the fish I have in my 140 litre tank. I would like to add a few endler/guppy type fish but I would like to know if they will be compatible with the fish that i have, because i have been told some of the fish (mainly the barb) may nip at them. Any suggestions/thoughts will be very appreciated.
Many Thanks

My Fish!

4 Red dimond barb
4 Tiger barb green
4 Tiger barb striped
34 neon tetra
3 rainbow shark
12 Gold cloud minnow
6 Leopard Danio
6 Sissor tail

Sounds like you already have far too many fish for a tank that size... my tank is 130L, has only 16 fish, most being small guppies and tetras, and I wouldn't put any more fish in there... You really shouldn't be looking to add more, I'd be removing some if I were you.

Thank you for your reply guys..

Sorry slight miscalculation....the tank is 200 litres and i have 24 neons not 34.

Ive been told my many pet shops and guides to stick to rule of thumb being 1ltr of water to 1cm of tropical fish..I am well within this rule as all the fish are small. I've had this set up running for around a month now, no problems with ammonia, nitrate and nitrites (problems that i know which would occur with overstocking).

To the eye the tank is still very empty!! I only would like to add around 5/6 endler/guppy type fish and then I won't be add any more...I would like to know which fish I can add with the fish that i have now.

Many tanks

i have that castle too, well i did untill i droped it yesterday and broke a part of it off

Personally I would not put Endlers or Guppies in there because the tiger barb will be nipping at their tails, may be better with Rummynose or tetras of a similar nature

Welcome to the forum! :good: You may not think you are over stocked now, but wait till they grow. But if you insist on adding more, I'd go with a bottom dweller.
