Fish combination

Dont put only one cory in, it will get lonely. Cories are schooling fish. No offense, but maybe you should read up a little more on fishkeeping. You really need to cycle.

I cycle my tanks with fish :) the only thing is for the first couple of weks remove uneaten food a alot of water changes ....... scratch the danios for good need more room  maybe 3 mollies 1 betta and 3 corys

Well this is my first aquarium, and i decided to get danios to cycle it. I will read more about fish keeping, sheesh, and its not like i bought the fish yet or anything... I just bought the aquarium. Anyways I already read up on cycling... And about the cories, i was just wondering. I decided to just get danios and later on add more fish, get bigger tanks... whatever........

Oh and thanks willywonka, i might consider that too. But if i do that what will I cycle with. Anyways, I like mollies a lot and so does my mom, and bettas are nice too... used to have one myself. I also like cories a lot.

No any fish will cycle your tank and mollies are VERY hardy do not get danios !!! they need to be in shoals and I would suggest ATLEAST a twenty gallong long ....... do not get them :( start out with mollies and who knows maybe you will eve have some babies ... but no sailfins tank is too small

Well I decided that my 10 gallon tank will be only for 6 danios, and later I will get a 20 gallon that will have many different fish. Thanks for the help everyone!

I started out with 6 zebra Danios in my first 10g, they were and are fine(now they are in 20g long) I was told when I got my first tank the Danios would be fine in a ten gallon

Hate to rain on your parade, but mollies need a bigger tank too. At least that's what I've read, and considering that I now have two I can understand that, because the one is maybe about two inches long, and while that size alone wouldn't cause any problems, the fact that they fly around the tank like rabid bunnies does.

As to a bottom fish, you could get an otto or two, they're reasonably small, and you don't need more than one if you don't want to. I like coolie loaches and things like that. I really don't understand why danios need a twenty, unless it's for the same reason I said about the mollies for?

don't get the danios for a ten gallon, especially 6 of them. i have several in my 55 gallon tank and they zip around so much it sometimes seems as though even that tank is too small for them. reconsider your stocking into something like 3 mollies (1 male and 2 females if you want fry) and a couple oto's to clean the bottom. there are so many fish out there that you have a lot of options to cycle with.

Well too many people in real life reccomended danios, so I got long finned danios yesterday, and they seem to be doing fine. Except that the tanks got a lot murkier for some reason, ill take a pic and post it. Also one of the danios has a lot of yellow near his fins, but none of the others do. Does that means theirs one male and the rest female? -Thanks! -Alex :fun:

Heres a picture of the water... Its really murky and I dont know why. Wasnt murky before. Also may it have something to do with the heater? It started getting murkier after I put the heater in.
