Fish Choices

4 Guppies and some corys
4-6 harquin rasboras and some corys and or a few of both rasboras and guppies with corys
same with neons you can do a few and a few of some other fish and some corys
But 10 gal is small so becareful not to over stock it. I have over stocked before along time ago and it wasn't good. :-(

For the 10 gallon I would go with:

5 male endlers and 5-6 pygmy corys

or

6 glowlight tetras and 3 corydoras habrosus

or

a trio (1 male, 2 females) of honey gouramis and 3 otos

or

a sparkling gourami and 9 pygmy corys

or

a male betta with otos

Not a bristlenose- they are messy fish. Nor danios- they need space. And puffers, as has been mentioned, are not community fish (somewhere in the archives, there is a picture of what happens to tetras when you put them in with puffers- not nice :( )

For the 20 gallon:

a school of 8-10 tetras and a bristlenose

I have a 10 gallon with 8 tiny dwarf rasboras, 5 ember tetras and 5 pygmy cories. The nitrates barely register because the fish are all tiny and produce little waste.
I have another 10 gallon with lots of endlers in - again very low bioload on the filter.
I also have 3 Betta Imbellis in a 10 gallon - our local Maidenhead aquatics have them at the moment.
Honey gouramies are nice fish too.
You have lots of options but little tank = little fish. :)
