Darkstar, well done on a very impressive tank! It must have taken you a while to not only acquire all those piece of specifically sized wood but the stocking must have been a labour of love too. Any chance of a couple of pic's of the L numbers??? especially the L200 at this is without a doubt one of my favourite looking plecs.

Well done :good:

Regards,

Tanks

Thanks Tanks,

The wood certainly has presented some challenges, such as paying for it (that much wood is not cheap lol), sneaking it into the house and trying to then convince the girlfriend, when she catches me, that I haven't just bought another piece of wood but it is infact the same piece of wood I bought two months ago, she's just seeing it from a different angle. I'm not sure if that line ever worked with her, but I've stuck with it.
Other than that the only problem was trying to come up with an interesting look with a bunch of abstract shapes. Aquascaping isn't something that comes naturally to me so it's been several adjustments of one sort or other until I found something I'm happy with.

AS for the L number pics. I do have some pics of the inhabitants but unfortunatley I'm at work at present as we've banned sites such as photobucket from being accessed so I can't load anything up. I do however have a link to 'my gallery' on another forum which has a few pics of the fish which your welcome to look at. I can't remember whether there is an L200 or shot or not...but if not I'll try and get one this evening for you lol.

Thanks Darkstar for the link!

Just out of curiosity is that your tank of juvenile Hypancistrus Zebra's. If so well done and it looks like you will finally be able to put the down payment on that house you always wanted. Over here a juvenile L046 can go for over a hundred euro so I would classify those fish as quite the cash crop!!!

Also on another note! For every piece of bog wood you try and sneak into the house, your girlfriend will most likely sneak in about two or three times that amount in shoes and clothing. I'm going to generalise here and say that "all women hide purchases now and then because they cant justify what they bought either to themselves or other people". Think of this for a minute! every notice when they come back from a shopping trip they disappear for about two or three minutes before they come in and say hello!, "what do you think they are doing"? I will tell you what they are doing! they are busy squirreling clothing away in special hiding places and they claim to be using the bathroom!!!!!! I think its a sickness!!!!!! ha ha ha Think I might get in trouble for that last rant.

regards

Tanks

xingumike thanks for the picture, its a quality looking fish. IMOP the reason why I like it so much is the ventral curve. i.e. the way the head, abdomen and tail all hold the same curve.

Indeed that is my tank of zebra juvenilles, although not the same tank as shown in the thread here lol. They all live in a two tank connected system with the adults in one tank and the juveniles in another. I think there's about 70 juveniles in there at present.
Thank you for the 'well done' btw.

As for the bogwood response...Lol I think you're right. My g/f is addicted to shoes and as she said the other night, she thinks handbags are also becoming an addiction. I'm happy to leave things as they are though....as she's agreed to let me have a 8ft tank installed in the house and, now that she's admitted her handbag fetish it means it won't be long till she agrees to let me buy my canon 400d which I've been nagging at her about for ages lol. It's swings and roundabouts I guess.

Your welcome, tanks.

I agree, the way they hold themselves in that postion is awesome, and imo looks so much more beautiful in this particular L200 (Baryancistrus demantoides as oppsed to the 'normal' L200 Hemiancistrus subviridis). I had been searching for the hi-fin for some time and was lucky enough to find this one last week!
