I dont know what plants i have due to just looking and picking the nicest looking plants.

Anyways under the unipac black gravel is a 2-3CM layer of Tetra Plant Complete Substrate, and i use Fluroish Excel.

Lighting wise is just a 15W interpet tropical daylight bulb.

Stocking wise is 40+ guppy fry.

Thank you Nick

Well it's a good start, I'd get those grassy looking plants out mate they're non aquatic and will end up dying and causing as ammonia spike, the same with the rear ones with White leaf tips. Your bushy plant is Cabomba by the way :). You might wanna dose some all in one fertiliser if dosing excel as excel is just carbon so with out ferts the plants won't use it mate.

Also the ones with the white banding on the leaves are non-aquatics too mate, grab them out and stick them in a pot on your window sill.

They are Dracanea plants :)

So the only Aquatic plants i have are the Cabomba :)
Stupid LFS selling non aquatic plants to me!
What is the best all in one fertiliser out there?
Cheers

TPN+ make sure it's the + version, yeah lfs's love doing that as they're pretty so people just getting into plants buy them and end up wondering what went wrong when they die and little do they know it's not their fault.

Thats now in my watched list on ebay :)
What plants do you recomend that i should buy next?

If you want the large leafy type plant then Java Fern (tied to wood/stone) or Amazon swords will be ok.

Grassy plants like you have already could be Sagittaria Subulata, Vallis (more background plant though), or Echinodorus Tennelus are the same leaf style as the non-aquatic stuff you have.

Just removed all plants apart from the Cabomba which is now moved too the back.
Might get some Echinodorus Tenellus for the front.
May get a nice lump of bogwood for the middle and java fern around it?

Should work out well mate, aslong as the Java fern is tied to the wood it will grow pretty quickly.

Searching for the right piece of wood is always fun, good luck :D

Don't feel bad, I accidentally bought that same grass, and had to return it. Dumb fish store! Anubis plants are lovely, they have nice broad green leaves. just glue em to a rock or wood and they do nicely.

Well just got a nice peice of bog wood from 'downinthedumps' Thanks again :good:

Anyways pictures :hey:

Looks alot better than before views ;)

Fertlizer!!!
Remember the fact i have guppy fry in the tank as a bio load.
Do i need
Tropica AQUACARE Water Plant Nutrition
Or
Tropica AQUACARE Water Plant Nutrition +

Which would be best?

From the sound of those ferts alone I'd say the + you want a fert that contains N&P.
